IMAA Holds AMBC Judging Clinic for the Indonesian Marching Band

PEKANBARU – The Indonesian Marching Arts Association (IMAA) in collaboration with the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC) and supported by the Riau Provincial Government through the Office of Youth and Sports, organized the AMBC Judging Clinic (AMBC Jury Training) in Pekanbaru, Riau.

The training in the field of marching band took place starting on Saturday 2 March 2019. The event was attended and opened by the Head of the National Executive Board of Indonesian Drum Band Association (PB PDBI), Apri Sugiarto. While the instructor is Kosin Suebprasitwong from Thailand and Sehat Kurniawan Saiman from Indonesia. Participants were 25 people from Riau, West Sumatra, Jambi, Riau Islands and North Sumatra.

The objective of AMBC Judging Clinic is to increase the knowledge of trainers or other marching band members about the AMBC Judging System, especially in marching band competitions that use the AMBC Judging System. Then also take advantage of opportunities that exist on AMBC for those who want to work as AMBC judges, where this further confirms that the world of marching band is one of the opportunities for employment.

AMBC Judging Clinic is an implementation of one work program and at the same time the opening program of a number of training programs which are included in the IMAA 2019 Strategic Planning. IMAA, for 2019 Work Plan has more than four training programs and more than 2 championships.

By increasing the training program, it implies that IMAA is very concerned about improving and developing the capabilities of the Human Resources marching band itself, which would theoretically have a positive impact on the quality of a championship.

This training ends on Sunday March 3, 2019 and will be closed by the Head of PB PDBI’s Binpres, Apri Sugiarto.

According to the Chief of the IMAA Governing Board, IF Setya Putra., The IMAA thanked the Riau Province Youth and Sports Service as an extension of the Riau Provincial Government, PB PDBI, AMBC and a number of other marching band members, who supported the implementation of AMBC Judging Clinic. Also to Cipta Musik Indonesia (CMI) and Wijaya Musik who participated in sponsoring this training. *** / riil
